1. Nature of the Service
Washington County Residents Directory is a private reference service. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections related to Washington County, Minnesota. It does not host government records and has no affiliation with any public office, court, or records custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or material located through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
- Scrape, copy, or republish the service's content at scale
- Interfere with service operation or security
3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
This service is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing here, and nothing returned by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to determine eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
4. External Services
Government portals, sponsored search tools, and other third-party services maintain their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, or data practices.
5. No Warranty
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that content is accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will work or return correct results.
6. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the service or a linked resource, including decisions based on records located through it.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. You may link to a page and quote a brief attributed excerpt, but you may not republish complete pages or systematically copy the content.
9. Term Updates
We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after a revision indicates acceptance.
10. Access Restrictions
We may block or limit access, without notice, for a user who violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Governing Law
Minnesota law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Washington County public-data access follows the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act, Minn. Stat. §13.03, when that statute applies to a request made to the responsible government custodian.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay effective.
